Peace and Quiet

Sayuri had always enjoyed coming up here by herself. It allowed her time to think things through without interruption. It wasn't a place where people were apt to run into one by, and was fairly secluded and peaceful. Today she sat under a rocky outcrop, hugging her knees to her chest, deep in thought.

The usually arrogant violet haired Jonin sat down, her head in her hands. Someone knew her secret and this meant everyone would know now. She huffed, throwing a stone away from herself before closing her eyes.

"Well, fuck."

Sayuri's head jerked up as the stone skipped by her. She looked over and saw Sora looking rather uptight about something, then returned to staring directly in front of her. She found no need to bother the already troubled jonin.

Glancing around, Sora saw Sayuri and frowned. Did she hear her?
Standing up, walking across and sitting beside the other Jonin, Sora gave a small smile.

"Hey. long time no see."

"Oh, helllo... Sora isn't it?" Sayuri questioned with a small smile. "How've you been?"

Sora nodded "Things have been okay, I guess. ANBU missions on the Akatsuki are tiring and Kiri shinobi piss me off."

"Yourself, Sayuri-san?"

"You sound quit busy." Sayuri nodded, feeling slightly uncomfortable at the mention of the Akatsuki. "I haven't had a whole lot going on lately, to be honest. It's really quite dull."

"Get yourself into the ANBU...then life won't be so dull. I hate the Akatsuki tracking," she sighed, double meaning to what she'd said "It's the worst."

Especially when you've been ordered to kill your lover on sight, she thought to herself, looking solemn.

Sayuri laughed lightly. "I'm working on it, believe me." she looked at Sora curiously. "Why is tracking the Akatsuki so bad?"

Sora frowned "Wel...I guess..."

"Umm..." The jonin struggled for words, sighing sadly "I guess it just is."

"Oh... alright then." Sayuri muttered, resting her chin on her crossed arms over her knees. For whatever the reason, the Akatsuki were a sore subject for Sora, and she would not press further.

Sora gave a small smile and looked over Konoha, her eyes drifting over the ruined Uchiha district. She sighed again, before speaking.

"So...have you heard anything in the Jonin headquarters about the Genin teams yet?"

"I haven't, actually." she admitted, looking back over at Sora. "Have you?"

She shook her head in response "Nah, nothing at all. I hope I'm not leading a team...I hate doing that."

"Sora sensei!" she grunted sarcastically, tearing her eyes away from the district. She'd visit that tonight "Fucking snot nosed genin..."

"From what I've heard, they're getting brattier by the year." Sayuri sighed disapprovingly. "It makes me wonder what our senseis thought of us."

"Yeah, I know..." she smiled, shaking her head "I still rememver my Genin group...me, Itachi-kun and some Hyuuga kid who always messed around...it was fun."

"I haven't seen my old team mates for a while." Sayuri admitted, shrugging. "They've both gotten so busy." she paused, going back over what Sora had just said, "I didn't know you were on the same team as Itachi."

"Yeah, I was. We both made Chuunin, graduated the academy and became ANBU teammates at the same time." she shurgged half-heartedly "We spent a lot time together."

"You must feel terrible then, after what happened with his clan." Sayuri said, sympathetically.

"Yeah...it was horrible." she said sadly, looking over the district again, shaking her head "I remember it well."

"I imagine so, it was such a tragedy for the whole village."

Another sad nod "Yeah. It hit others harder than some."

"Like the ones who were closest to the clan, you mean?"
