History/ Bio: Youngest of the Terumi family she was born amidst the era of the bloody mist. Her parents were killed in part of the genocide since they held strong kekei genkai. Her sister Mei and herself surivived by the mere fact that the Fourth Mizukage took Mei under his wing. Mei being around 15 years old when Mizu was born, took her as her own daughter. She raised her in a lavish lifestyle as she rose up in ranks. Mizu was hidden from the view of others for she was the weaker of the two.

She eventually was taught more of her kekkei genkai, but she was not as gifted as her sister. She did rise to the level of a jonin and was teamed up with Chojuro before his rank rising to Swordsmen. Now she protects her sister along with Ao and Chojuro, but she is not really deemed her bodyguard, but more of her being guarded by Mei. Mei knows that the Akatsuki will try to get her weak spot, which is Mizu.

Personality: Mizu is a chip off the old block. Mizu is a cheerful person who is almost always seen smiling. She can even issue death threats while still smiling. Like Mei, Mizu is very flirtatious, but she does deem her sister silly for even thinking of Uchiha men worthy of interest. Though flirtatious she is stubborn and ruthless when it deals with the good of Kirigakure.

Her roughness and flirtatiousness covers her shy and childlike personality. Not as developed character like her sister, she is curious and open minded to anything, sometimes that causes her position to flip flop.

History/ Bio: Sayuri is the only one in the current generation of the Yamisatsu clan. Her parents both expect a lot from her so that they may keep their prestige in the village, which often makes her feel as though she has the weight of the whole clan on her shoulders. Even before she entered the academy, at the age of two, she was being trained to become a shinobi. When she did enter the academy, she was startled by the sudden sensation of being around so many other children her age, having never had any playmates before. She quickly made friends with the other young kunoichi, and shed some of her shyness.

The friendships Sayuri made as a child stayed strong throughout her years of training. However, as she continues into adulthood, the pressure from her family continues to increase. This pressure sometimes causes Sayuri to become reckless or rebellious, something that has almost caused her death. She longs to have her parents except her for who she is; to be recognized as a person and not an object used for gain.

Personality: Sayuri is rather quiet until she becomes familiar with someone and knows how they will react to her, because she is afraid of being judged. Around her friends and loved ones, Sayuri is playful, energetic, and considerate. She is the one friends often will come to with a problem because she has the quality of being a good listener and enjoys being able to cheer them up. Sayuri is not much of a flirt, though, as a child, she had a crush on Sasuke Uchiha like all the other girls (though she is very much over that now).

On the days when she has had enough with the clan, Sayuri tends to act rashly, and makes decisions without considering consequence. Another result of this is that she has developed the unhealthy habit of always striving to be the best at everything, something she will sometimes joke about. Nevertheless, Sayuri is extremely loyal and would die to protect anyone she cares for.

Personality: Ame is a very strong-willed person. In part owing to her ninja upbringing, she tends to act somewhat tomboyish most of the time, but she does possess a sweet side. She unexpectedly shows an interest in the flowers. She has little confidence in her ability to make important decisions, a flaw that was considerably deepened since the disaster with a friend who had tried to kill her. She dislikes having to be rescued, preferring to rely on her tough facade instead. Although Ame prides herself at being native to Suna, she was actually an orphan found on the border of Wind and Fire country as a baby.

She is a strong believer in altruism. She is willing to bend the rules imposed on her, such as her father's orders to kill the an elder of a far smaller village, in order to do what is right. Despite the anger some of Suna bears towards her, she understands that mistakes can be corrected, and absolutely refuses to give up on someone, even her greatest enemy.

Ame's tough facade has created an interesting outer personality. She tends to anger easily and is not above disciplining someone with an occasional swift smack. When she is angry, she will most definitely let someone know. However, she is also talkative, despite her troubled past and angry members of society who have cast her out of their circles.

History/ Bio: Ame , a young girl that was found on the boarder of the Wind and Fire Country by a group of Suna ANBU when returning from a mission that was being held in the land of fire. She seemed to be only a month old. One of the members of the team took her back to the village, right to the hospital. The nurses there worked hard to make sure that Ame wasn't injured in any way. The found that she was fine and strangely healthy. They had found a letter on Ame that told them, her name, birthday, and many other things. The Kazekage had then later sent people to search for anyone that left the child all alone.

Days later, Ame had been given to a family who the wife was unable to have children. They adopted Ame - for they did not rename her. Ame grew up as an only child since the couple was happy to just have one child. She grew up with other children, as they were also too happy to have another person to play with. When Ame was around the age of five, her adoptive mother had passed away on a A-ranked Mission with her team. No one had survived. Ame and her adoptive father were devastated by what had happened to her.

Ame had then asked her father if he'd enroll her into the academy. Her father was surprised about this request. He was sure if it was to be a good idea if he allowed his daughter to become a ninja. But he had then enrolled her, knowing that his wife would want their daughter, even if she wasn't blood, to become what she dreamed to become.

Ame, with some of her friends went to the academy together, in the same class as they had wished. Both of them found their respected element. Though, Ame's element was different from them. Her paper had first crumbled up - but then quickly turned to dirt which fell to the ground - as it fell the dirt must had combined along with the lightning shock which turned into crystal. The teacher of the class, had been very shocked. But he understood due to that Ame had not game from their village, but from a different one.

Ame had then been placed in a different class, one of those far advanced of the other class she had been in. Even at the young age - Ame was seen to be a very bright, and strong new shinobi of the Village Hidden in the Sand. As year passed - Ame became a shinobi of the village. She hadn't been placed on the same team with her childhood friends, but placed in a team of those far advanced of the rest of the Academy. This team was known has 'Team Kuro Kaze'. They seemed to breeze right threw the chuunin exams when they had came up - becoming Chuunins at the ages of 13.

Around this time, Ame's adoptive father seemed to be under control of a unknown source, that she hadn't noticed until she was heavy wounded and that he had her life in his hands. Ame's father, or who ever had been controlling him ordered Ame to kill a man who was going to come to ask an alliance with Suna. Ame didn't carry out on what he had asked of her, and instead killed him. Suna shinobi understood what she had to do. As then the young girl was left alone in the world again. Ame had gotten older with her team as they continued to be who they are today. Each of them gained a different rank as they got older. One was a Jounin, the other an ANBU captain. Ame though, became a Special Jounin, And Happily stayed one. She looks up to the current Kazekage, due to the suffering he had been put threw , which he is now a great leader.

Appearance: Kakuzu is a tall, lean man. He stands roughly 185 cm tall and weighs 63.2 kg. His body is covered in scars and stitches due to his constant battle and attaching his own severed limbs to his body. Beneath his mask the corners of his mouth are spit open, but like the rest of his body they are held together with his stitching. His eyes are a blood red with green pupils and he is almost always scowling.

Personality: Kakuzu has one love only, and that love is for his money. His constant side trips to collect bounties constantly get in the way of his partner, Hidan's oh so busy schedule. The two constantly bicker about trivial things, but despite the contempt they hold, they make a fearsome duo. Hidans immortality along with Kakuzus abilities to 'heal' they are nearly unstoppable.

History/ Bio:
When he was still a loyal elite ninja to Takigakure, Kakuzu took on a mission to assassinate First Hokage. This mission, however, ended in failure due to Hashirama's Mokuton jutsu. Despite the insurmountable danger faced in the mission, what met him at his return to his village was the hate and harsh punishment associated with the failure of his objective. In response to this treatment, a wrong levied against a shinobi who had put life and limb on the line for his village, Kakuzu came to hold a violent hatred to his village as he escaped from imprisonment. In his escape from the village, Kakuzu killed the village elders, took their hearts, and fled with knowledge of the village's most prized forbidden techniques. He eventually joined Akatsuki, and was given a number of partners, most of whom he killed, due to his short temper. This is why he has eventually partnered with Hidan, whom he could not kill.

Earth mask (Light blue): It is unknown what animal this mask was, as it was destroyed before it could be seen, but the heart had an earth-affinity. It allowed Kakuzu to use Earth Release: Earth Spear.
Tiger-like mask (Red): This heart had a fire-affinity, and it took on the shape of a demonic tiger. It could use Fire Release: Intelligent Hard Work. This mask could also unite with the Eagle-mask to launch a fire-wind dual strike.
Bull-like mask (Yellow): This heart had a lightning-affinity, and it took on the shape of some sort of deformed bipedal. It could use Lightning Release: False Darkness.
Eagle-like mask (Blue): This heart had a wind power, and it took on a strange, four-legged body, with thin wings. It could use Wind Release: Pressure Damage. It could unite with the Tiger-mask to launch a fire-wind dual strike, that was near unstoppable.

Personality: Before his fathers disgrace, he was very social and kind person. He would always pick people up when they were down, and he would try his hardest to use his diamond techniques to aid others. But after, he became very cold and bitter towards other people. He was prone to outbursts of anger, or sadness and his became withdrawn.

History/ Bio:

Born to a man of the sand, and a woman of the earth Tzura was born with a strange combination of chakra elements. Wind and Earth. With these two elements, he was given a set of skills that were unknown by the world, Diamond. Before his father was deemed a coward by the nation of the Sand, he was a very social person. He would entertain the children with small sculptures of diamond, and create glittering light shows with the dust he released into the air. He was known by the people of his village as The Shining Palm. He would usually denounce the title but his friends and family would call him that, which lead him to accept it.

At the age of sixteen, his father showed extreme cowardice when he ran away near the beginning of the assault on the Leaf by the Sand and Sound. Retuning to the village without even one scratch on his body. This event spurred the change of his name from Shining Palm, to the Son of Scum. He would be ridiculed by his past friends and so called countrymen, and they would attack him for no other reason besides that he was his fathers son. Unable to take the torment, the father committed suicide, leaving Tzura and his now ill mother alone.

After two more years of his mother struggling with her illness, she died and was given no funeral. He had to bury her himself. In his love for her, he encased her body in a shell of sparkling diamonds and gently lowered her into the ground, covering it with the sands.

Despite both of his terrible losses, he was ridiculed by the village still. And he was forced to watch as one of the most hated people in the village, Gaara, rise to the ranks of Kazekage. He wound normally be happy for him, but his hate of the Sand became too strong. After being chided once more by a group of Shinobi from his village, he lashed out in a fit of rage. Using his normally playful style as a deadly weapon against them. He left the battle extremely injured and fled the village, never to be seen by them again.

Tzura wandered for a very long time, bleeding to death until he passed out near the village of the mist. When he awoke, his wounds had been treated and his clothes mended. He felt his forehead to feel not a headband, but the hand of an older woman. He would come to know her as Obaa-San and she would know him as her grandchild. She replaced his old Suna headband with one of the Mist, and told him the story of her lost grandson. In he despair, she decided to leave the village. But as a sign from above, she found the collapsed body of Tzura. She reminded her of the lost one and took him in as her own. Tzura would move on to the rank of Jonin under the care of his new family. She taught him various healing techniques so he would be able to aid the injured in the hospital.

He is still withdrawn to this day, but with the right amount of positive re-enforcement, he can be broken out of his shell.

History/ Bio:
Sora is the last remaining member of her clan; the Nakamura clan. Her clan was known for their horsemanship; Sora herself has a horse named Hotaru, which she fights on.

She is a quiet girl; rarely making herself known unless she's on a mission, and even then, she is a quiet, effective ninja.
Her element is fire, and she has a firey temprament to go with it

It was always said that Sora was romantically involved with a member of a now disgraced clan.
Her supposed lover vanished after a night where there were murders involved...only time will tell if she'll ever see her dark haired lover again.

Appearance: Calm, cool, and collected. Those are the words some would describe Naki as. If, of coarse, you take away his silly and perverted ways. Naki stands at five foot, nine inches. He has messy aqua colored hair that goes down to his shoulders. His eyes are a piercingly beautiful green color. He is on the small side when it comes to muscular build but that doesnt stop him from putting up a formidable fight. Naki's usual attire consists of a black short sleaved shirt with his blue konoha headband tied around his left arm. Over his t-shirt, he wears a green military jonin vest and a red bandana tied around his neck. He has bandages wrapped around the lower of his arms with black fingerless gloves. He wears long, dark blue shorts, a shinobi equipment belt, and the usual sandles. Aside from clothing, he has a light skin tone and always wears a calm, cool smile.

History: Naki was always laid back in his acadamy days. He was the type to always get in trouble for not paying attention, but when the teacher called on him, he always had the right answers. Between classes, he would always get in trouble for trying to sneak in the girl's restroom. He once succeeded by learning a jutsu from a fellow student, called sexy no jutsu. However his plan backfired and he got one of the worst scoldings of his life by one named Sakura. He was sent to the Hokage for punnishment but a man named Jiraiya helped him out and took him under his wing.
Naki soon found out about a book that both Kakashi-sensei and Jiraiya were fans of and checked it out. He became hookedbut when he found that Jiraiya-sama was it's writer, it ade him admire the old sage even more. Naki slowly rose through the ranks with the sage's help, up until the day Jiraiya was killed. Once Naki made jonin rank, he swore he would take over where his sensei left off, writing the make out paradise series and do some 'research' of his own, while working to find the identity of his master's killer. For once in his life, he has motivation. To avenge the murder of his teacher and good friend.

Personality: Naki is perverse and silly, even when he seems to be completely serious. To prove that fact, he can be seen reading a book called 'Make-out-paradise', a book written by his former sensei until his death. He now does 'research' of his own and is the new author of the perverted series. He even goes to the extremes of using sexy no jutsu in order to blend in so he can research first hand, allowing him to gather more experience for his 'research' than his former master. other than his perverted ways, Naki is calm and cool under any circumstances, until he goofs off for attention or 'research'. The last thing he did was use transformation jutsu to turn into the ground so he could look up some girl's dress.
Other than that, he can be extremely loyal and trustworthy to his friends but if female, he'd deffinately try to give out cheesey pick up lines and expect it to go smoothly everytime.....even though it never really does...

Personality: Itachi is very mysterious and is always hiding his true feelings. He has great self-control, which he often uses to act indifferent or seemingly uncaring. Itachi is also extremely intelligent and intuitive.

History/ Bio: Itachi grew up as the child prodigy of the Uchiha clan, establishing milestones for Sasuke and future Uchiha to live up to. Over time, however, Itachi began to distance himself from the clan, acting hostile towards its members when he is accused of murdering his clansman Shisui Uchiha and prompting his father to discourage Sasuke from following in Itachi's footsteps. Itachi soon afterwards killed every member of the clan with the explanation that he was testing his potential. He spared only Sasuke, who he claimed was too weak to be worth killing, and challenged him to live a life of hate so that he would get strong enough to someday pose a challenge to Itachi. Itachi vanished into the night, leaving Sasuke with the motive for revenge that drives his actions

Personality: Quick to be angered and easily annoyed, Deidara is very hot-headed and often tends to overreact to certain things. Something of a sadistic arsonist rather, he is not above enjoying a good fight, and he often blows up his opponents in a very brutal fashion. Deidara's most distinctive trait, however, is his love of art. Deidara is very proud of his art, to the point that he is simply unwilling to accept that anything could defeat it, at least when he knows he is still able to fight. Yet, he is intelligent enough to recognize stronger opponents. However, he utterly despises Itachi and the Sharingan, believing the latter is not anything artistic, and an insult to his Exploding Clay.

History/ Bio: Even during his days as a shinobi in his home town of Iwagakure, Deidara garnered high praise for his clay sculptures. However, he still desired to reach even greater heights. At first, he simply focused on creating more and more works, but before long, he started craving a kinjutsu that was passed down in Iwagakure: a technique that allows one to knead chakra into substances.

He violated the law and stole the technique, causing him to be pursued. However, as the Exploding Clay he had used for the first time detonated and took down his pursuers, he saw the art he had desired: the Art of a Single Moment (一瞬の芸術, Shunshin no Geijutsu). Whenever he detonates his Exploding Clay, he recalls the process that allowed him to reach this art.

After he fled his village and became a missing-nin, he started helping insurgents in various countries as a terrorist bomber. This is how Akatsuki eventually caught wind of him. Sometime after Orochimaru left Akatsuki, Deidara was located by Itachi Uchiha, Kisame Hoshigaki, and Sasori, who were under the orders of the leader, Pain, to recruit him. Deidara refused at first, resulting in Itachi challenging him, promising to leave him alone if Deidara won. Deidara willingly accepted Itachi's challenge, but was easily defeated by Itachi's Sharingan, and joined the Akatsuki. Deidara, having taken a huge blow to his ego, carried a murderous loathing for Itachi and the Sharingan for the rest of his life, although he was intelligent enough to recognize Itachi as a more powerful opponent. However, he did take steps during his time with Akatsuki to get revenge on Itachi, such as training his left eye to counter Genjutsu.

Personality
Hidan was one of the most foul-mouthed, disrespectful characters in the series; he frequently swore and complained at allies and opponents alike. He rarely used honorifics when speaking, and, even then, usually as a form of sarcasm, for example when he called Deidara "Deidara-chan". He was the only member of Akatsuki who did not respect their leader, Pain, and openly declared his willingness to kill him around others. The only respect he ever seemed to give was to his god, and, even then, he was quite willing to use his name as an insult. He openly held his partner, Kakuzu, in contempt for his habit of blasphemy, love of money, and Kakuzu's frequent ridicule of Hidan's religion and battle style. Despite this, whenever Hidan was in the mood to kill, the two worked together flawlessly in battle, and one can infer that he did care somewhat for his partner, from his panicked reaction when he almost killed Kakuzu while being possessed by Shikamaru's technique.

Hidan had absolutely no moral restraints regarding the people he killed; he considered slaughter a religious calling, and often took considerable pleasure in making his opponents' deaths as painful as possible. Given the requirements of his voodoo-like curse ritual, he was quite willing to inflict pain and injuries on himself, and openly relished the shared pain between him and the cursed victim. Despite this, he reacted "normally" (that is, he didn't enjoy the pain) to being injured by someone else, or when the opponent didn't share the pain.

Hidan's behavior in the anime bordered on insanity; he was frequently heard shrieking loudly while attacking, and laughed maniacally when he was about to kill Asuma Sarutobi. Hidan also appeared to be quite spiteful towards his enemies (and nearly everyone else), even commenting to Shikamaru Nara that "I've been waiting for this" ("this" referring to using his ceremony to kill Shikamaru).

However, his immortality had made him arrogant (though not quite stupid), and he frequently engaged opponents with no regard for strategy, save to acquire some of their blood. Although ridiculed for his foolishness by Kakuzu and Shikamaru alike, and being obviously inferior in tactical genius to either of them, he was able to analyze the nature and limits of Shikamaru's Shadow Imitation Technique, and conducted battle accordingly (though he retained his arrogant attitude even under these circumstances). Interestingly, he seemed to panic when Shikamaru took control of his body, shouting at Kakuzu to do something in a rather frantic voice. He didn't particularly like it when Kakuzu assisted in his battles, and only called for his help when he decided he needed it. Kakuzu tended to return the favor by coming in "late" and letting Hidan be beheaded (though still alive) as punishment for underestimating his opponents. After his head was reattached he showed a great hatred towards Asuma.

History/ Bio:
Hidan hailed from Yugakure. After it deteriorated from a shinobi village to a tourist site, Hidan became infuriated with how things were turning out. He believed that the shinobi that resided there were meant to kill, and thus slaughtered his neighbors before leaving Yugakure, and joining the cult-like faith known as Jashin, a religion that worshipped a deity of the same name. The primary teaching of this faith appears to be outright slaughter, where anything less than utter destruction is considered a sin. The amulet around his neck was a symbol of Jashin, and he used it to pray to his god before battling, requesting a good kill, or (when he was not allowed to) for forgiveness. Eventually, he joined Akatsuki, and was partnered with Kakuzu. Pain stated that his reason for joining Akatsuki was "religion".

Appearance: Like Naruto, Gaara is a little shorter than the average males of his age. He has pale skin and short, spiky hair that is brick-red. Gaara's eyes are sea foam green. The pupils of his eyes are mostly invisible. Gaara has no eyebrows either. He has two very notable traits in his outward appearance: firstly, he has tanuki-like black eye rings, having them since his birth due to insomnia caused by Shukaku. Secondly, he has created the kanji "love" (愛) on the left side of his forehead, having it since Yashamaru's betrayal. Gaara's forelocks are parted from the left side, making the kanji more visible. Gaara is often seen standing straight, with his arms crossed over his chest.

In Part I, Gaara has been seen in two different outfits. When he was seen for the first time, he wore black full body suit with t-shirt-like sleeves, ¾-length legs, and an open neck. With this, he wore a white cloth over his right shoulder and the left side of his hips, and a wide leather band system over the left shoulder and right side of his hips. With this leather band, he carried around his gourd containing his sand. He also wrapped his forehead protector over the band. In his childhood flashbacks, he was seen wearing beige poncho-like clothing with full-length blue trousers and a short-sleeved black t-shirt.

In the Sasuke Retrieval Arc, and in the final pre-Shippūden filler arc, he switched his previous black overalls to a reddish-brownish one with longer sleeves and an upright collar. He used this costume in Naruto the Movie 2: Legend of the Stone of Gelel as well.

In Part II, battling against Deidara, he wore full-length dark trousers, a long-sleeved red coat with a flaring hemline, and a purplish gray vest. He is also seen wearing Kazekage robes, and a simple black tunic-trousers suit, the latter one greatly resembling Kankurō's suit, and worn for the memorial of Elder Chiyo. All the time, he has been seen wearing some sort of black shoes.


Personality:While Gaara had initially tried to be friendly towards others, despite their fear of him, Yashamaru's actions and words changed him. Realizing that nobody loved him, Gaara used his sand to create the kanji on his forehead "love" (愛, ai), as a symbol of a "demon loving only himself", and to live up to his name, as Karura intended. Gaara became emotionally withdrawn, all but silent, and consumed with a bitter loathing for everyone but himself and "Mother", the voice of Shukaku in his head. He learned to find pleasure, and eventually a reason to live, in annihilating the numerous assassins sent to kill him – and, by extension, anyone who threatened his existence. This was only worsened by the occasional demand by Shukaku for blood to sate its blood lust, which resulted in Gaara being merciless, demonstrated when he murdered Baiu and Midare while ignoring their pleas.

Gaara's insomnia, forced upon him by the fear that the demon inside him would eat away at him if he were to fall asleep, only furthered his instability and desire to kill. In fact, his hatred extends to his siblings, as he never saw them as such, and was fully willing to kill them were they to cross him. In time, Gaara's father would come to appreciate Gaara and the uses he could serve, and canceled all assassination orders in the hopes that Gaara would become an effective tool.


The Sand Siblings.Gaara's childhood was, in many ways, similar to Naruto Uzumaki's, though more unfortunate due to his lack of anyone to call a friend. Both were lonely and desired to be liked, loved, and acknowledged as an individual, free of others' prejudices — they were themselves, not the demons they were forced to "contain" — and both were driven into a desperate state. While Naruto consequently developed the misconception that pranks and mischief would bring him the attention he sought, Gaara came to the conclusion that he could preserve and confirm his own existence by killing any and all who challenged it, securing an extreme form of existentialism as his key personality trait. In the absence of others' acknowledgment, he could compensate by valuing only himself to the exclusion of everyone else. Furthermore, while Naruto eventually had Iruka Umino and Team Kakashi to acknowledge him, Gaara never had anyone to bond with, not even his father or siblings, as they all despised and feared Shukaku that dwells within him. The person who was closest to being friendly with Gaara was the deceitful Yashamaru, who ultimately betrayed him, which turned Gaara into a lonely sociopath. As such, Gaara did not understand the concept of fighting for anything other than himself until his confrontation with Naruto.

After being defeated by Naruto, Gaara was shocked to find that Naruto knew very well the pain that Gaara had endured all his life. He was even more surprised that Naruto never gave up hope on being acknowledged as a person and ultimately found friends who truly cared for him. Seeing the determination that Naruto had to protect his friends made Gaara question his own path in life. Realizing that he gave up too easily, Gaara decided to follow Naruto's path, wishing to become Kazekage of Sunagakure so he could be connected to his people, and hopefully have them finally acknowledge his existence as a person. Over the next few years, Gaara's determination to find happiness became apparent from his decision to rely on his own power rather than his inner demon's. Gaara eventually formed a close friendship with Naruto.

Since Gaara has become a close companion to Naruto, he has been able to change people's personalities towards him, such as Matsuri overpowering her fear of weapons, Ōnoki in the Five Kage Summit, and even Naruto himself when reflecting upon what he will choose to do as Sasuke's friend. This seems to be a similar trait from Naruto, a way of showing how he has changed from before.

Although he remained ruthless against his opponents, Gaara appears extremely protective of his allies and innocent people, as seen when he protected his village from Deidara; and his siblings, Darui and even the Raikage against Sasuke. He also appears to deeply understand those who have suffered from loneliness and hatred in the past by the look in their eyes, such as Naruto, Kimimaro, and even Sasuke.

As a Kage, Gaara believes that the former ideals that each village must mind their own business and solve their own problems without having to ask for the aid of others in order to keep appearance and honor, is a "ridiculous old-fashioned thinking" and that cooperation between the villages is fundamental in order to defeat Akatsuki.



History/ Bio: Gaara participated in the Chūnin Exams, where he was quickly identified as a skilled competitor. He was able to pass the first phase without giving any indications that he was cheating (the objective of the test). During the second phase, he demonstrated his thirst for blood by killing Team Shigure, who Gaara claimed had looked at him the wrong way. Gaara wanted to continue searching for people to kill, but Kankurō told him that it was enough. However, Gaara said that he didn't care for them, and didn't consider Temari and Kankurō as his siblings. Gaara and his team finished this phase in an hour and thirty-seven minutes, beating the previous record by over four hours, with Gaara not getting so much as a speck of dust on his clothes, a feat that would be very difficult even for an experienced ninja.

In the preliminary matches, Gaara was matched against Rock Lee. Lee's formidable speed and strength were enough to bypass Gaara's Shield of Sand completely, forcing him to rely on his secondary Armor of Sand. Despite Lee's best efforts, Gaara's sand protected him from even Lee's Reverse Lotus, which left Lee in no condition to fight after its use. Gaara used his sand to crush the weakened Lee's arm and leg, critically injuring him. Gaara tried to kill Lee, but Might Guy intervened before he could harm Lee any further. For the finals, Gaara was matched against Sasuke Uchiha. In the month before the finals, Dosu Kinuta tried to kill Gaara in order to ensure that he could fight Sasuke. Gaara promptly killed him with the power of Shukaku.


Gaara in his fight with SasukeIn the final round matches of the Chūnin Exams, Gaara was to play a major role in Orochimaru's invasion upon Konohagakure, by releasing Shukaku within the center of the village. Prior to his battle with Sasuke, he brutally killed Tsuba and Midori, both of whom tried to threaten Gaara to lose the battle for a bet. When fighting Sasuke, he realizes he has taijutsu as high as Lee after the month's training. Not caring what happens, Gaara tries to transform. However, he was wounded by Sasuke's Chidori, disabling him from transforming or serving his role in the invasion. With Gaara no longer in a condition to join the battle, Gaara and his siblings fled the village, while the invasion proceeded without them.

Gaara was pursued by the members of Team 7, along with Shikamaru Nara and Shino Aburame, which forced Gaara to begin transforming into Shukaku. As his transformation progressed, Sasuke tried to use Chidori two additional times, but when both proved ineffective at stopping Gaara, he was left exhausted. Gaara tried to kill Sasuke, but was stopped by Naruto and Sakura's arrivals. This gave Gaara a short flashback of his betrayed childhood. Intrigued by Naruto's abilities, Gaara pinned Sakura to a tree, in order to force Naruto to fight.

Naruto, scared, stayed to fight against him to protect his friends. Though Gaara seemed to have the upper hand, Naruto attacks the lower base of the tail, using One Thousand Years of Death from Kakashi Hatake, reducing Gaara's defense tremendously, giving Naruto the upper hand in the battle. When beaten down by the massive shadow clones Naruto summoned, Gaara angers, and releases the body of the One-Tailed Shukaku. Naruto then summons Gamabunta right before Gaara could kill him.


Shukaku unleashedGaara then used the Feigning Sleep Technique to let Shukaku take full control in the battle. Once Shukaku proved to be stronger than Gamabunta, he and Naruto used their Combination Transformation technique to transform into a giant fox (the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox in the anime) so he can cling onto Shukaku for Naruto to hit Gaara for the beast to be resealed. This became successful, but Naruto's chakra became drained. Naruto used some of the Nine-Tails' chakra, then headbutt Gaara, making Shukaku's body crumble.

With the last of their energy, the two exchanged final blows, Naruto ending up claiming victory. Gaara was puzzled by Naruto's undying devotion to his friends, causing Gaara to realize that Naruto's strength came from the desire to protect those close to him. As Gaara and his siblings fled the scene, Gaara openly apologized to Kankurō and Temari, which surprised and confused them. Thanks to Naruto's influence, the defeat proved to be a major turning point for Gaara.


Gaara nearly recieves a fatal attack from Kimimaro.Team Baki was called by the Fifth Hokage to assist the Sasuke Retrieval Squad in retrieving Sasuke when he defected from Konoha. Gaara arrived to save Rock Lee in time from preventing Kimimaro's final blow. Though, Lee tries to attempt to continue, Gaara stops him, and volunteers he will handle it, and that Lee is in no condition to fight since Gaara injured Lee during the Chūnin Exams. This showed Gaara's new personality. In the fight, Gaara showed off several new abilities, proving too much for Kimimaro. Once Kimimaro releases the 2nd state of his Cursed Seal of Earth, this proved too much for him, and in the end, he almost defeated the two, only to be luckily saved by Kimimaro's unknown disease which killed him.

After the battle, Gaara explains even a person who works for the bad has someone precious in them, and explains Lee was like Naruto Uzumaki. Later, the two returned to Konoha. After this, Gaara and the rest of the Sand Siblings returned to Sunagakure, though in the anime, he and his siblings helped the village's Ninja Academy before leaving, as stated from Shikamaru.

The Sand Siblings would later appear when they became teachers at a Konoha-style ninja academy at Suna. As an instructor, Gaara took on the only student who was willing to train under him, Matsuri. Because of Matsuri's fear of weapons, Gaara trained her to use a jōhyō, a relatively non-lethal weapon. When a group of people called the Four Celestial Symbols Men kidnapped her in order to get to Gaara, Suna then called for aid from the Konoha 11 to repay their help during the Sasuke Retrieval Arc.

Gaara first fought Suiko, then he caught and attacked the Four Celestial Symbols Men leader, Hōki, but was captured. Naruto tries desperately to save Gaara, though nothing would work. To escape, Gaara did a partial Shukaku transformation, reviving the Takumi Village's ultimate weapon, Seimei. Gaara later destroyed Seimei with Ultimately Hard Absolute Attack: Spear of Shukaku, and killed him with a Sand Waterfall Imperial Funeral.

After this, Gaara rests in the Konoha hospital, and overhears Naruto's conversation with Jiraiya. Gaara and the rest of the siblings, including Matsuri, leave Konohagakure.


Gaara in Part II while in his Kazekage Robes.Having become the Fifth Kazekage during the gap in time between Part I and II, Gaara was targeted by Akatsuki, who sought to extract Shukaku from within him. Gaara proved highly capable of holding off Deidara, even managing to crush one of his arms, and had him on the run for most of the battle, but his inevitable duty to protect Sunagakure was taken advantage of by Deidara, by threatening to drop one of his most powerful bombs on the village. Gaara prevented any damage being inflicted by summoning a vast amount of sand to cover it entirely, albeit at the cost of practically all of his remaining chakra, which left him open for capture. Being unconscious, he was taken to Akatsuki's hideout by Deidara.

Although Team Kakashi did their best to save Gaara, they did not arrive in time to stop Akatsuki's extraction of Shukaku, resulting in Gaara's death. Naruto Uzumaki cries in front of him, regretting his inablility to save both Sasuke and Gaara. He blames the rest of the Sand Shinobi because of putting such a demon inside of him in the first place, and letting him feel so much pain as a child. However, Chiyo resurrected Gaara with the help of Naruto's chakra using her life-restoring technique, in the hopes that it would make up for her sealing of Shukaku into Gaara years earlier, and hoping Naruto and Gaara will both change the world, by bringing Gaara back to life at the cost of her own. Gaara awoke, shocked by being surrounded by his friends from Konoha and the Sunagakure villagers that had gone looking for him, all relieved that he was alright. This was the first time Gaara truly felt loved and not so alone. Gaara later orders everyone to pray for Chiyo.

Before Naruto went back home, he tried to say goodbye, but admitted that it wasn't something he was good at. Gaara used some sand to encourage and guide Naruto's hand, and the two shook hands, symbolizing Gaara and Naruto's friendship, and Gaara's new characteristics. Even with Shukaku removed, Gaara still retained his ability to control sand and went on to continue his work as Kazekage.


The Suna Siblings' new look.Because of Akatsuki's increasing activity, the Fourth Raikage calls for a meeting of the five Kage. When Gaara left for the summit, his hair had grown a little longer, he still wore his sand gourd on his back, and the traditional Kazekage hat and gown were attached to it. Temari and Kankurō accompany him for protection, but Kankurō notes that he doesn't need bodyguards.

Gaara is the first Kage to arrive in the Land of Iron. When the other Kage arrive and the meeting starts, Gaara is the first to speak. He indicates that, because he was captured by Akatsuki and almost died when Shukaku was removed from his body, he considers the organization very dangerous. He adds that he had previously requested collaboration between the villages against Akatsuki, but that only Tsunade of Konoha responded. Gaara is repeatedly interrupted by the other Kage for the rest of the meeting and his input is dismissed because of his young age.

When Sasuke is revealed to have infiltrated the meeting and the Raikage goes to fight him, Gaara has a chance to speak with the remaining Kage. He voices his concern with the others' lack of ethics and says that a world without faith and understanding would be a world with only fear. Gaara, Kankurō, and Temari then leave to join the Raikage's battle with Sasuke. When they arrive, Gaara uses his sand to stop Sasuke and the Raikage from attacking each other, demonstrating that despite the loss of Shukaku, Gaara's sand manipulation powers were still strong and is even more powerful than before to be able to block the Raikage with his Lightning armor on. While the Raikage recuperates, Gaara tries to convince Sasuke to stop living in the darkness, citing past experience by saying no good will come of it. Sasuke could not be convinced so, with a tear in his eye, Gaara attacks Sasuke with his Sand Shield which Sasuke comments to be extremely swift and hard enough to penetrate Susanoo's ribs which causes Sasuke to rely on his Blaze release as a more defensive measure. Sasuke also attacks Gaara with Amaterasu, which seems too slow and ineffective against the automatic Sand Shield. After showing an equal match, Darui joins with Gaara, Kankuro and Temari to form a combined attack at Sasuke.

Sasuke is able to elude their combined efforts. They follow him back to the room where the Kage met and find Sasuke with Madara Uchiha. Madara sends Sasuke away and tells everyone in attendance about his Moon's Eye Plan. Because Madara concludes by requesting that the Kage give him Naruto, Gaara refuses. The other Kage agree, so Madara declares the start of the Fourth Great Shinobi World War.

Immediately after Madara teleported away, Gaara brought the group's attention back to the need of an alliance, now more than ever. After agreements were made, Gaara offered to relay the news to Konoha through ninja he trusted such as Kakashi as Danzō proved himself untrustworthy. He also pointed out the importance of not playing into Madara's hands by carelessly putting the remaining jinchūriki out in the open as mere weapons, and thereby risk them being captured. Mifune agrees to let the Raikage to lead the alliance. Gaara and the rest of the Kage accept the offer, and, as the first objective, they must inform all the Daimyo about the incident.

Gaara and his siblings later confront Naruto and the others to tell what has happened at the meeting in the Five Kage Summit. He also tells Naruto that he and and Killer Bee cannot be seen in combat at the war, and that if Sasuke tries to threaten Naruto, he will show no mercy against him. Recalling Sasuke's statement that he no longer saw the light, Gaara tells Naruto that his friend now only sees darkness. Grasping Naruto, Gaara states that Naruto once dreamed of becoming Hokage, while he himself became Kazekage, and to wield the title of Kage means knowing when to do the right thing.

Naruto shoves Gaara's hand off of his shoulder, and stays silent reflecting his words. Before Gaara and his siblings leave, Gaara tells Naruto he is his friend. He then states "friends" isn't just a word, but something with meaning. He then tells Naruto to reflect that meaning, and think what will be the right thing to do to Sasuke. Finally, he and his siblings leave to Sunagakure. Later it is seen that Gaara and his siblings have safely returned to the village and had already sent a message via a Messenger Hawk about the meeting's events so that the relaying of Madara's declaration of war was heard and the formation of the Alliance could be approved by the Daimyos. The other Sand ninja tells them that the Daimyos have agreed to the Ninja Alliance.

Gaara is next seen at the Kage meeting called by the Raikage, accompanied by Temari. They proceed to discuss about Killer Bee, Naruto, their enemy, and the current status of their respective villages. When Tsunade is outraged by the agreement to hide the two remaining jinchūriki, Gaara reminded her that it wasn't up to her to make decisions unilaterally. Gaara then reminded Tsunade of the risk Naruto would cause if left free as Naruto would do whatever it takes in order to protect his friends.

Personality:When he was a child, Sasuke used to be a very kind boy, loving towards his parents and brother, and being respectful to his clansmen and teachers. He was even very proud of being Itachi's brother and Fugaku's son, famous for being devoted protectors of Konoha, and he always desired to emulate them. After Itachi massacred the clan, Sasuke's innocence was corrupted, his ideals and personality changed severely, becoming cold, lonely, cruel, cynical, somewhat arrogant, and with the next eight years of his life devoted to killing Itachi.

Personality: Kakashi became more stern and serious following his father's death, following all the rules and scorning any who disobeyed them, like his team-mate Obito. This caused Obito to resent Kakashi, as Kakashi showed little kindness to his team-mate. This changed when Obito was killed in a mission, and Kakashi and Obito became friends in the latter's final moments.
Obito's death had a huge impact on Kakashi's personality. He is now more cheerful and shows greater concern for his team-mates and students, placing their safety over the successful completion of a mission. He is also regularly late for appointments, making obvious excuses just like Obito before him. This is because of his frequent visits to the memorial where Obito's name is engraved, where he loses track of time. However, Kakashi is still just as carefree and emotionless as he was during his youth, often speaking bluntly about sensitive topics.
Kakashi claims to have lost everyone who was close to him, causing some reluctance to allow others to get close to him. Of the people who are still alive, Kakashi is on the best terms with his students, although he is on good terms with almost everyone in Konoha. After the formation of Team 7, he begins taking a special interest in their development, as shown from his regular checking up on Naruto and his eating habits. He similarly refuses to go on a mission at the end of Part I so that he can stop Naruto and Sasuke from killing each other. Kakashi is just as devoted to his friends and the rest of Konoha, such that his signature jutsu, the Lightning Cutter, had been made on the principle of duty, and perfected on the principle of protecting loved ones.
Kakashi has a rather solitary and matter-of-fact attitude. His calm and detached demeanor has been called “cool, hip, and trendy” many times by Might Guy. Despite his increasingly growing reputation and prowess as a ninja, Kakashi has shown no signs of arrogance, and is rather modest about his abilities, as shown when he readily praises others for leaps in their combat abilities and stating on more than one occasion that Naruto has surpassed him in power. When suggested by many for him to become Hokage, Kakashi admitted that such a position was unfit for him. His naturally calm attitude is used to his advantage in battle, as it becomes easier for him to maintain his composure to stay focused on the situation at hand, and ultimately notice everything around him. As a result, he can quickly adjust to any situation to make keen and thought-out decisions, allowing him to stay steps ahead of his opponents.
Kakashi has an ongoing, albeit one-sided, rivalry with Might Guy. In trying to prove himself superior to Kakashi, Guy challenges him to competitions of questionable value ranging from Rock, Paper, Scissors to running races. Guy has a record of 50 wins to 49 losses, which he is particularly proud of, despite these competitions having little accuracy due to their large variations. Kakashi, on the other hand, shows very little interest in their competitions, which only further inspires Guy to defeat Kakashi and his "coolness". However, Kakashi did show disappointment when he learned that Guy taught Lee how to open the dangerous Eight Gates, which turned to sympathy when Guy shows how much his student meant to him.
Kakashi is an avid fan of the Icha Icha series of novels by Jiraiya, implying that he is slightly perverted. He is typically seen reading one of the books when not involved in a fight, making it the only one of his reportedly many hobbies that is ever seen in the series. He even went and read it during his first fight against Naruto, as Naruto was, at that time, too weak to pose much of a threat. Despite his fondness for the books, he grows uncomfortable when reading passages to others (even around Pakkun and his ninken), presumably embarrassed by the adult content (as noted when they were decoding Jiraiya's last message). Naruto, on one occasion, has used these books against Kakashi, threatening to spoil the ending of the latest installment to force Kakashi to let down his guard (by shutting his eyes and blocking his ears) to prevent learning the ending of the story. Kakashi felt humiliated when he realized that Naruto hadn't read past the first ten pages, and that he was tricked.

History/ Bio: Although later earning status as a Jōnin-sensei, Kakashi developed a reputation throughout the academy for having exceedingly high standards on who he would train, and failing every potential genin team that took the Survival Training Exam he proctored. When he was given the next potential Team 7 — which consisted of Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, and Sakura Haruno — he gave them a bell test, requiring that the three of them obtain one of the two bells that he keeps on his waist. They worked independently to try and take a bell, unwilling to work together since one of them wouldn't be able to have a bell.
Each of the young ninjas try their own methods to getting a bell, only for Kakashi to easily defeat them. After Team 7 failed their test, Kakashi was quick to express how displeased he was with their performance. After belittling each of their performances, he revealed the true goal of this test: teamwork. After explaining the importance of teamwork and seeing how ashamed they were at their performance, Kakashi decided to give Team 7 one more chance to act as a team, and let them take a break for lunch. However, Naruto, having earlier tried to steal their lunches, was forbidden to eat. Deciding that they would need Naruto in peak condition if they were to work together, Sasuke and Sakura gave him food anyway. Kakashi witnessed this act and immediately confronted them, feigning anger that they disobeyed him, before passing them. The newly formed team explained that they needed to work as a team first before anything else. He then congratulated them on being the first team to pass under him after revealing the true objective of the test: teamwork and loyalty to your team-mates.
It was later revealed that Kakashi was chosen specifically to be the leader of Team 7 because of Naruto and Sasuke. Kakashi's duty in addition to training the team was also to keep the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox in Naruto contained, and to keep Sasuke from walking down a dark path, since they had similar traits that would allow Kakashi to better understand him.
When Akatsuki's leader, Pain, attacked Konoha in search of Naruto, Kakashi confronted Pain's Deva Path, after realizing that the initial attack was a diversion. He saved Iruka Umino from certain death, but was quickly overpowered by the Deva Path's gravitational-manipulation techniques, repelling all of Kakashi's attacks. When the Asura Path arrived to help the Deva Path, Kakashi was forced on the defensive until he got reinforcements from Chōji and Chōza Akimichi. After figuring out the Deva Path's powers, Kakashi devised a plan, and used Chōji and Chōza's help to take down the Deva Path. They almost succeed, but the Asura Path uses itself as shield, allowing the Deva Path to counter, defeating them all.
Believing them all to be dead, the Deva Path left. When he came to, Kakashi sent Chōji to tell Tsunade about the Deva Path's abilities. But as Chōji left, the still-active Asura Path launched a missile at him. Despite knowing that he was almost out of chakra, and would likely die if he used the Mangekyō Sharingan again, Kakashi used Kamui to dispose of the missile and save Chōji. Having expended the last of his chakra, Kakashi died, and his soul left his body. He lamented on how he failed to protect Rin and soon found himself at a campfire with his deceased father, Sakumo, to whom he tells his life story upon request from his father.
During Pain's destruction of Konoha, Kakashi's body was protected by one of Katsuyu's divisions. After finishing the recount of his life, he stated that he finally understood why his father had chosen to save his friends and was now proud of him for it. Their conversation was halted when a ray of light beamed down upon Kakashi, as a result of Nagato's Samsara of Heavenly Life Technique. Before seeing his son depart, Sakumo thanked Kakashi, and declared that he would now be able to join his wife. Kakashi then woke up in the Konoha battlefield, with Chōji shocked. As Kakashi wondered what happened, a Katsuyu division explained to him the series of events that had occurred. After the invasion came to an end, Kakashi fetched Naruto and brought him back to a massive welcoming party at Konoha. There, he complimented Naruto on finally achieving his goal to be accepted and appreciated by the whole village.
When news reaches Konoha of Sasuke's actions in the Land of Lightning, Naruto asks Kakashi and Yamato to take him to the Land of Iron so that he can ask the Fourth Raikage to forgive Sasuke. Before leaving, Kakashi asks Sai to keep their departure a secret from Danzō, the acting Hokage while Tsunade is in a coma. They locate the Raikage, but Naruto is unable to convince him. During their stay at a motel in the Land of Iron, Madara Uchiha confronts Naruto. Having expected him, Kakashi and Yamato attack him. Knowing the attacks will have no effect, Madara tells them about Sasuke's motivations, the Sage of the Six Paths, the Uchiha clan, and the truth of Itachi. Kakashi then asks what Madara's own motives are, but receives only the answer of "to be complete" before Madara disappears.
Sai and Sakura follow Naruto to the Land of Iron and Sakura tells Naruto that she loves him. Kakashi suspects that this is not the real reason they came, which is confirmed by one of Sai's ink clones. Sakura, as agreed upon by the other members of the Konoha 11, is going to kill Sasuke before he involves Konoha in a future war. Knowing that she is no match for Sasuke, Kakashi prepares to follow her. At that moment Gaara arrives. Gaara tells them about the start of the Fourth Great Shinobi World War and Danzō's actions at the Kage Summit. Gaara adds that the other Kage would prefer if Kakashi were the Hokage. When Gaara leaves, the ink clone guides Kakashi to Sakura.

The ink clone disperses en route when Sakura neutralizes the real Sai. Kakashi finds her in time to stop Sasuke from killing her and tells her that, as Sasuke's teacher, he will be the one to kill him. Kakashi makes one final attempt to draw Sasuke away from a life of vengeance, but receives an attack from Sasuke's Susanoo in response. Kakashi is forced to use Kamui to divert the attack, which leaves him unable to protect Sakura when she re-joins the fight. Naruto arrives in time to save her and, and with Sasuke's eyes on the verge of blindness, Kakashi tries to finish him off. Naruto halts Kakashi in order to speak with Sasuke, who gloats about having killed Danzō. Madara and Zetsu soon arrive and Kakashi, at Naruto's request, allows them to leave with Sasuke without incident. Kakashi tries to take out Madara with Kamui, but Madara tells him that the technique won't work on him. Madara teleports away taking Sasuke, and Zetsu leaves then as well. Kakashi collects Karin, believing she may have useful information, and revives Sai and Sakura's other escorts before going home.

Back in Konoha, Kakashi speaks with Koharu Utatane and Homura Mitokado about all that has occurred. While reluctant to become Hokage, he agrees and accompanies them to a meeting with the Fire Daimyo. Before he can be appointed, news reaches them of Tsunade waking up, ending the proceedings. Later, while Tsunade is recovering, Kakashi speaks with her and thanks her for waking up in time, noting he is not "cut out" for the position of Hokage.
